Profile: For Sekar Larasati, who born and grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia, the path to designing has been a long journey. She went from a Bachelor's degree in International Relation to stops at the Digital Studio College as a Graphic Design student. She enter the fashion industry as a freelance stylist for Anton Ismael, a well respected Indonesian Photographer. In the past few years, she has worked closely with the Indonesia most renowned name commercial photographers. When she is not busy with her styling project, she spent her time as a producer at Sembrani Production House, which has produces various videos including: Clasmild, Bank Jabar, Glen Fredly, Slank, Bondan Feat F2B, Shanti feat Tompi, etc. After a thoughtful consideration and preparation and also support from her friends and family, she decided to launch her own collection. On her debut for women’s wear line, a whimsical twelve-piece presentation of printed dresses, neon jumper and colorful top that combines Indonesian materials with modern fabrics and prints. With a nod to her Javanese heritage and a talent for intricate detail, Sekar Larasati has a knack for the colorful and eclectic pieces with a recognisable wit. “I firmly believed clothes should be wearable at the same time as being contemporary, the problem is the line between unwearable fashion and wearable fashion is very thin. Sometimes I often find myself in a tug of war between my imagination and design, trying to stop them from literally being at over the top.”
